Georgia
Regional Hospital at Savannah encourages volunteers from the
community to supplement and compliment the programs at the
hospital. Volunteering can be a rewarding experience to
both the volunteer and the hospital. Volunteers provide a
valuable service to the clients and maintain an important
link with the community.
Volunteer opportunities include:
-
INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS
are needed to work in various areas of the hospital. Volunteers are
needed for Nursing, Medical Records and other administrative work.
We also welcome volunteers on a one-to-one basis with clients at the
hospital and to help conduct classes in such areas as arts and crafts
and grooming. Individual volunteers go attend a short orientation.
Hours are flexible.
-
GROUP
VOLUNTEERS
are members of civic, fraternal, school or church
organizations who work as a group with the clients at the
hospital. Group volunteers work on regular projects such
as pet therapy or weekly/monthly visits to a particular
unit. Other group volunteers provide parties and other
activities for special occasions such as Christmas and
Halloween.
-
OCCASIONAL VOLUNTEERS
are those that are called on by the hospital for special
projects and those that make donations to the hospital.
The hospital is always in need of clothing and shoes,
books, magazines and party refreshments.
